Apple’s 2008 Top 10 Love Movies

Yup, I got time to watched several movies last year and still looking forward the coming soon. Of course the first on my list is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Angels and Demons of Tom Hanks, Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian of Ben Stiller and Fast & Furious the come back movie of Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and others.

Meanwhile this are list of my 2008 Top 10 favorites movies.

10 Twilight
Directed by Catherine Hardwicke. With Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke. A teenage girl risks everything when she falls in love with a vampire. Twilight is a young-adult vampire-romance novel written by author Stephenie Meyer. It was originally published in 2005 in hardback. It is the first book of the Twilight series, and introduces seventeen-year-old Isabella “Bella” Swan who moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington, and finds her life in danger when she falls in love with a vampire, Edward Cullen. The novel is followed by New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

9 One True Love
A story about a wife’s struggle for his husband accidents and his true love. Starring Dingdong Dantes (Migs), Marian Rivera (Joy Mejares)and Iza Calzado (Bela). Migs then meets and falls in love with Joy, a pretty albeit simple nurse played by Marian Rivera. Days pass and his feelings for Joy grow deeper while his affection for Bela gets buried in the past. He offers marriage to Joy, which shatters Bela along with her hopes for a reconciliation with Migs.

After the wedding, the young couple meets an unfortunate incident turning their newly-found bliss into a tragic existence. Living with Migs turns out to be an agonizing experience as his new state of mind gets more complicated as days pass. A creature of serenity, Joy refuses to name her pains and secretly vows to make Migs remember their love that was inexplicably lost and waiting to be rekindled; faithful that along the way, his heart will remember what his mind forgets.

8 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
The alien-themed plot (not to mention that scene where Shia LaBeouf channels Tarzan) incurred the wrath of some diehard Indy fans — and earned the flick a hilariously controversial send-up courtesy of ‘South Park.’ But at its essence, ‘Crystal Skull’ keeps up with the previous ‘Jones’es, delivering a long-awaited, and whip-cracking, fourth dose of our favorite globe-trotting archaeologist. — Tom DiChiara

7 Quantum of Solace
Unflinchingly brutal and relentlessly entertaining, the sequel to 2006’s masterful ‘Casino Royale’ is lighter on character and plot, and (way) heavier on the action. Daniel Craig once again does 007 proud, somehow humanizing a man whose thirst for revenge has, by all measures, turned him into an uncompromising killing machine. He’ll leave you both shaken and stirred.

6 Kung Fu Panda
This is a cute animated comedy that also inspires lessons in life. The audience can relate to people who have dreams of doing the impossible, just as Po. Po ultimately learns that if he believes in himself, he can do anything.

5 WALL-E
The gorgeous, wordless first half has the comic grandeur of a Chaplin film; the second half is a biting satire of commercialism that’s far more effective than Michael Moore ever was. And yet at its root this is simply a romance, achingly tender and true, about a lonely little robot and his search for love. Breathtaking in its beauty, scope, intelligence and charm, ‘WALL-E’ isn’t just a Pixar masterpiece — it’s a masterpiece, period.

4 One More Chance
Their love story started when they met as students in a university. Popoy was taking up Engineering while Basha was a freshman in Architecture. They have been inseparable ever since—they did everything together: eating, studying and/or attending parties. Their families loved them, they shared friends, they eventually worked in the same firm and their life plans revolved around each other. But Popoy knows too well that giving in would mean going back to how they were before. And he’s way too scared to get in the way of Basha’s growth once again, especially now that he has seen that she can do it alone. Joining John Lloyd and Bea in One More Chance are Derek Ramsay, Maja Salvador, Dimples Romana, Nikki Gil, Janus del Prado, and James Blanco. Former Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 housemates Robert Woods and Beatriz Saw will be introduced in this Star Cinema movie that opens in theaters nationwide starting November 14, 2007

3 Iron Man
Iron Man is 2008’s most unequivocal cinematic triumph. Robert Downey Jr.’s captivating turn as Tony Stark kicked off a stunning career comeback for the once-troubled actor and proved that heroes can be complex and edgy without taking themselves too seriously. Put simply, ‘Iron Man’ is golden. One can’t forget that this is an action film above all else, every effect is also quite brilliant. Those scenes of Iron Man flying amongst fighter jets in the trailer seemed really lame, but when in context they deliver.

2 Wanted
Angelina Jolie in hot-bad-girl mode, geekily sexy James McAvoy as her trainee, super-cool special effects. Some people hated the quirk with the Fraternity is that it’s assassin’s have the special ability to raise their heart rate above 400 bpm, pumping incredible amounts of adrenaline into their system and giving them superhuman reaction speed…basically “bullet-time”. But the Russian director Timur Bekmambetov brings his original vision and style to a story based on a graphic novel, and it all adds up to a killer of an action flick.

1 The Dark Knight
Good and evil, peace and chaos, Batman and the Joker are two sides of the same coin — with their fates just a wrist-flick. Salute to the director Christopher Nolan’s grim, this a glorious sequel to ‘Batman Begins.’

While the action comes fast and plentifully, it’s Christian Bale’s tortured turn as the demon-knight. Countering him is the late Heath Ledger, who plays such a scary and creepy Joker that I found it impossible to NOT have chills half the time I saw him on screen. Heath Ledger’s unsettling, unforgettable performance as his clown-faced nemesis that will haunt you long after the credits roll.
